Last minute Christmas Shopping Ideas

When we went to Haiti in January, a part of our mission was to visit the El Shaddai Children's Home; helping in whatever way possible, showing the love of Christ and building life long relationships.  Almost a year later, Wayne Bell and Edd Cobb continue to devote time and love to the success of El Shaddai.

Recently, Wayne called us and shared news that El Shaddai's generator has finally given out. When we were there, it was on it's last leg and we knew at some point it would have to be replaced.  They use the generator for lighting their home and running their well to pull clean water from the ground.

Knowing that as an organization we have decided to focus on America, Wayne contacted us not to pay for the generator and take focus away from our goals in 2011, but to assist him in receiving donations under our 501c3. Because he was such a valuable asset to our team in January, and knowing his heart is in the right place, we agreed.

Between now and the time they reach their goal, we will assist their efforts through excepting donations, spreading the word and vouching for their credibility and servants hearts!

The specifics of the generator, how they will get it there, who's installing it and anything else that you may be curious about can be answered by Wayne Bell. You can contact him via email at Wayne@itsChance.com or you can contact him via telephone at 904.545.7002. They need YOUR help.

Chance, Thanks again for your help and support!

I have been on many mission trips around the world to various places, I have never asked for money for any of them although there have been several who have helped me financially and I am eternally grateful for those people!!! No place I have ever been has left an impression on me like my trips to Haiti... in particular the El Shaddai children's home in Dessources, Haiti.

This home houses many children which include 5 infants at this time. They are in an area where they must depend on a generator for power and clean water... The one they have was worn out the last time I was there and now it is completely out of service!

can you imagine having 5 infants and trying to take care of them without power?? PLEASE pass this along....

Thank you so much for all who help at the Orphanage with the Generator. I can vouch for the need as I go 2-3 times a year to provide Medical Mission trips and Evangelism. You can count on my help. I will donate $500.00. This may be a small amount but if 100 people gave $500.00 you would have the full amount for the Generator and then some. God is in control and our faith stands strong to supply the need. Gods Blessings, Minister Marsha Davis-Flowers

I've been working with Marie since I was 18 (12 yrs now). She is one of the reasons I have such a passion for Haiti. In all my years of working with her she has never asked for anything....she always tells us when we ask what we can do for her that we can pray and God will show us what to do or take for her. It's been amazing the stories that have come out of that. God has provided for her over and over again.

One of the many things that sets her apart from others in Haiti is that SHE is the "Momma" to her kids. She tries not to get so many that she can't give each child the love and attention he deserves. Many other orphanages have staff and teachers but no central mother figure like a typical family does. While many other kids in Haiti demonstrate a desperate need for attention, her kids are well adjusted and comfortable with just being around teams who stay or work there. These great qualities, however, never negate the desperate need for certain supplies.

We were just there this past Monday and can tell you that the generator was not working well and was shut off. She has never had a great one and I can remember on past trips having team members trying to revive it. I will be doing whatever I can to help with this as I know she is so deserving of this. She has taken in so many little babies since the earthquake, including a set of twins.

I'm so appreciative for those who have taken this on. I will pray and support this.

THANK YOU!
Shasta

I will be going to pick up the generator tomorrow and if all goes well shipping Thursday... Customs is a 2-3 week process and a estimated $1500. tax. Please pray that the customs process is problem free.

As of right now we are approx. $2000. short of the funds we need to complete this process but due to the upcoming elections in Haiti and the fact that they NEED this generator.

We are moving forward on FAITH!!!

I believe God will provide what is needed on time as always!!! What is needed is the customs and ground logistics money to deliver the generator from the airport to the children's home.

Anyone can give... some with funds but more importantly some with prayer. PLEASE keep praying!!!

Well after driving approx. 1200 miles this week the generator has been picked up and delivered to the shipping company in Hollywood Fl. It only took 19 days to raise enough funds to accomplish the 1st stage of this project!!!

God has graciously supplied what we have needed to date for the purchase and shipment. God has opened many doors to reduce the cost also, I am amazed as always at what HE can do!! The original cost of $14,000. has been almost cut in half!!!

As of now we need to raise $1500-$2000 more for the travel and installation expenses. We have approx. 3 weeks to get these funds in hand so that we can book flights.

PRAISE GOD for HIS FAITHFULNESS!!! I thank Him daily for allowing me to be a vessel He can use.

Thanks to everyone who has helped!! PLEASE continue to pray for the team that will go (hopefully 4)Pray specifically that our electrician gets his passport in time.

Now... anything given over will go toward fuel after we leave and community projects. The Children's home does a LOT for the community where it is including giving the locals jobs when needed.

A good days pay for a average Haitian is $6.00.... so skip lunch and put someone to work for a day... I know that seems cheap but it is a real blessing for them.

Last time I was there we gave them enough money for a project that they felt was needed. It was cleaning out drainage ditches around the home, approx 20 men came with their own shovels and dug out the muck from daylight to dark knee deep in what we would consider sewer... ALL of them smiling because they were working!!!!

I should add that after the ditches were cleaned out was when the hurricanes/flooding started..

other needs are items we will take with us if anyone wishes to donate any of these items please contact me.

The following is a quote from a live in missionary at El Shadddai:

As far as needs, we do have some ongoing needs in the house. The list is below. They are not in any particular order so just allow the Lord to guide you.

Disposable Diapers (sizes 1 thru 5)
Rice Baby Cereal (with fruit if possible)
Baby Wipes
Baby Powder
Baby Formula
Toothpaste
Deodorant (men & women)
Bar Soap (large bars)
Body Lotion
Mosquito Repellant

A note from the Childrens homefor all who supported the project.

Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ,
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the generator, all the extra parts, and all the supplies that were sent to us when Bro. Wayne, Bro. Edd, Bro. Mark, and Bro. Kyle came to Haiti. The generator was more than we could have ever asked for, so we know it was a gift from the Lord. We thank and praise God for allowing you to help in bringing us this special gift. We are not only thankful for the generator, but also for all the extra parts, love for the children, tons of baby food, diapers, sippy cups, milk, and last but certainly not the least the two special messages from the Lord.

On Sunday morning, Bro. Edd taught us how to prepare for spiritual battle by using the Armor of God. On Sunday night, Bro. Wayne taught us how to grow in our faith by using the Shield of Faith. These messages were confirmations of what the Lord has been putting on our hearts for us and the people in Dessources.

May the Lord bless you! Although we do not know everyone who had donated toward this, we pray the Lord will return your giving to 100 fold blessings!

1 Peter 4:7: "The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore; be earnest and disciplined in your prayers."
